AMERICAN COPPER OWL ON BROOM WEATHERVANE WITH DIRECTIONALS. Late 19th- early 20th century, New York. This large example attributed to J.W. Fiske, depicts a full body owl mounted on a broomstick with gold leaf surfaces. Sold together with cast-iron directionals on rod with large copper ball, the whole now mounted on a museum stand. Also accompanying this lot is a smaller museum stand for the display of the owl weathervane. SIZE: 24″ h x 40-1/2″ l. 73″ h with directionals. CONDITION: With gilt surfaces as noted, no damages, with slight minimal seam separation at end of tail. Good. 9-27644 (10,000-15,000)
