UNSIGNED (Italian, Possibly 17th Century or Earlier) OLD MASTER WITH SKULL AND LION. Oil on wood panel shows a man with white hair and white beard clutching a stone in his right hand with a white cloth draped body. He holds a tall crucifix in his left hand while his red hat and coat are resting below. A book is open with the works “Domin Eclamr Exavdi Mevs Orato AD Nemen V”. A human skull rests on the bottom corner of the book just above a lions head. A landscape with cave is the backdrop. Single wood panel has two supporting cleats on the back. SIZE: 31-1/2” x 25-1/4”.
