WINDSOR COMB-BACK ARMCHAIR.

WINDSOR COMB-BACK ARMCHAIR. Late 18th Century, probably Pennsylvania. Curved serpentine crest rail, the ears with carved volutes joined to a seven-spindle back, pierced through the medial curve rail continuing to paddle arm rests, all joined to an oval shaped saddle seat raised on raked turned legs joined by a reel-turned H-form stretcher. SIZE: 41-1/2″ h x 22-1/2″ overall w x 17″ seat h. CONDITION: This example now and a later black paint over an earlier red wash. Structurally good. 9-98797 (2,000-3,000)
