NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE BIRCH TALL CHEST. Last quarter 18th century, probably New Hampshire or Maine. The rectangular dovetailed case with an applied molded cornice and fitted with six graduated and thumbmolded long drawers raised on a molded base with tall shaped bracket feet. SIZE: 56-1/2″ h x 40″ overall w, 36″ case w x 19″ overall d. CONDITION: Refinished. Retaining original backboards and feet. Brass hardware later replacements and redrilled holes. Some restoration in thumbmolded edges of drawers. Otherwise good. 9-20140 (2,250-2,750)
