WILLIAM LESTER STEVENS (American, 1888-1969) “WEST GLOUCESTER HAYSTACKS”. Oil on canvasboard fall scene shows a landscape with colorful trees, fields, and a bard with two large haystacks. In the distance can be seen a sliver of rich blue water. All under a colorful blue & white cloud sky. Signed lower right “W Lester Stevens”. Housed in a period gilt molded wood frame. On reverse is marked “1932”. An outstanding gem from an early period of this artist’s career. SIZE: 12″ x 14″. PROVENANCE: From a private Massachusetts collection.
