EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (American, 1896-1978) “THE OLD COASTER”. Oil on canvasboard Gloucester Harbor scene shows a three-mast green hulled schooner with one sail up moored beside a dock with a small boat and man beside. Other boats are seen in the harbor under blue and cloud sky. Reflections are seen in the harbors water. Signed lower right. Housed in what appears to be its original unsigned Newcomb-Macklin carved and gilt frame with wide gilt liner. The frame having its original Rockport Art Association label with artist name and title.
