COPPER EAGLE WEATHERVANE. Last quarter 19th century, attributed to A.L. Jewell & Co. Waltham, Massachusetts. This classic form of eagle in flight with zinc head and backswept sheet copper wings in old, well-patinated surface. Now offered with museum stand. SIZE: 14″ h x 24-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: From a private Waterville, Maine collection. CONDITION: Each wing with dents near juncture to body. Some deterioration of solder along top seam of back and head. Bullet hole through left wing. Otherwise good. 9-29606 (2,500-3,500)
