FULL BODY COPPER COCKRELL WEATHERVANE. First quarter 20th century. With a sheet iron comb, wattle and tail. The weathervane with old gilded surfaces, verdigris and old gray paint. Now offered with museum stand. Similar weathervanes manufactured by Jewell, Cushing and J. Howard. SIZE: 20″ h overall x 14-1/4″ l. PROVENANCE: Private Waterville, Maine collection. CONDITION: Combination of surfaces original and unrestored leaving a pleasing effect. Red comb and wattle is a later surface than the others. No restorations or damages noted.
