FEDERAL GILTWOOD CONVEX GIRONDOLE MIRROR WITH EAGLE CREST. Early 19th century, American. The round convex mirror plate within a conforming reeded ebony slip further within a conforming circular cylindrical molded frame with cast foliate capitals surmounted by a displayed eagle on a rockwork plinth flanked by dolphins above a pair of scrolling candle arms, the frame apron with pendant leaf tips and inverted pendant pineapple. SIZE: 49″ h x 28-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Original gilded surfaces dry and with wear. Interior molded frame with old shrinkage cracks. Candle arms with minor gesso losses. Convex mirror plate original.
