LARGE FOLK ART CARVED WOODEN SWORDFISH WEATHERVANE. Early 20th century. This large example, carved from the solid, applied with hand carved crescent fins and with button eyes, painted overall in black paint, with a white line drawn mouth and white belly. No stand present. SIZE: 78-3/4″ l. PROVENANCE: Found approximately 25 years ago on a Casco Bay Island. CONDITION: Structurally very good with remnants of original paint. Fins intact. Drilled for mounting. Original tubular insert for mounting post present. 9-99559 (8,000-12,000)
