JOSEPH MARGULIES (AMERICAN, 1896-1984) ROCKPORT FISHERMAN. Outstanding oil on Masonite scene shows a portrait of a weathered fisherman seated on rock ledge. He wears a gold-colored jacket, brown pants, gray floppy hat and holds a pipe in his right hand. Cape Ann shoreline with rocks and waves in background. Signed lower right. Housed in a partially gilt, carved-wood frame with white wood liner. SIZE: 24″ x 30″. CONDITION: Very good with inpainting 9-97272 (3,000-4,000)
