FEDERAL INLAID CHERRY SLANT LID DESK. Circa 1800. Rectangular dovetail case with sloping lid centered with a rectangular figured maple panel opening to an interior fitted with an arrangement of figured maple drawers over valance letter slots centering a pair of document drawers further centering a prospect door opening to a bank of three figured maple document drawers. The case additionally fitted with four graduated long drawers, the upper most flanked by lopers raised on French feet centering a shaped and scalloped apron. The drawer fronts and pilasters all with figured maple. SIZE: 44″ h x 39-1/2″ w x 20-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Desk retains original scrubbed finish, structurally very good. 9-98784 (3,000-5,000)
