SCRIMSHAW TOOTH OF LADY LIBERTY. First half 20th century, New England. Scrimmed with a figure of Lady Liberty, the reverse with a displayed American eagle beneath a banner “LIBERTY INDEPENDENCE COUNTRY’S PRIDE & BOAST”. Beneath the eagle is an additional banner scribed “E. PLURIBUS UNUM”. SIZE: 8″ l. PROVENANCE: From a private Utah collection. CONDITION: Tooth with good color and patina, normal and expected shrinkage cracks, and with light soiling to surfaces. Otherwise very good. 9-90366 (700-1,000)
