NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE FIGURED MAHOGANY SERPENTINE CHEST OF DRAWERS. Last quarter of the 18th Century. Rectangular single board top with molded edges, serpentine front, and canted corners above the conforming case fitted with four serpentine cock-beaded drawers on a molded base raised on original bracket feet with shaped returns. SIZE: 36″ h x 39″ w overall x 36″ case w x 23-1/4″ d. CONDITION: With original surfaces, feet, and backboards. The top with old shrinkage crack and splice on proper left front corner. The over-sized brass bat wing hardware are of a later period. 9-98852 (6,000-9,000)
