EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (AMERICAN, 1896-1978) WINTER REFLECTIONS. Early oil on canvas winter scene shows a winding still brook through light woods with snow-covered banks. The light cascades in from the right, casting shadows up the snowy bank. White cumulus clouds and blue sky are seen through the trees and opening. All reflected in the still water. Signed lower left. Housed in a decorative carved and painted replacement frame. Circa 1920s. SIZE: 25″ x 30″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-97269 (18,000-22,000)
