THREE EARLY LACY PRESSED GLASS OPALESCENT PLATES. 1) Boston & Sandwich pressed shield and pine tree nappi in fiery opalescent with a bluish tint. Pattern on reverse includes alternating tree and shield design with pinwheel and shield design on inside of rope foot. 2) Opalescent pressed plate, probably by Boston & Sandwich with a basket of flowers and leaf design around the rim. Similar to cup plate #89 in Lee’s book on American Cup Plates. Plate has nearly a complete rope border with areas of slight underfill. 3) Lacy period opalescent dish with a leafed border on the face; reverse base includes crosshatched hearts and a central six-petal flower. Possibly Sandwich. SIZE: 6″ dia, 6-1/4″ dia and 5-7/8″ dia respectively. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: 1) Very good to excellent with only the most minor flaking along the edge. 2) Very good to excellent with the slightest flaking around the outside border. 3) Very good to excellent with only the most minor flaking around the rim. 5-63152 (600-900)
