FINE MASSACHUSETTS FEDERAL MAHOGANY AND TIGER MAPLE SECRETARY. Circa 1810. Boston or North Shore Massachusetts. Shaped cresting surmounted by a brass eagle finial flanked by spire and ball finials, the upper case with a pair of astragal glazed panel doors with reeded mullions, the interior fitted with three shelves over three aligned tiger maple drawers, the base with a pair of aligned drawers stepped back and fitted on the lower case, the front section with a hinged folded writing surface, crossbanded and with a baise writing surface. The lower case with three graduated long drawers, the upper most flanked by lopers, the drawers all with tiger maple fronts raised on slender flared french feet, the shaped apron with a central tiger maple panel. SIZE: 79-3/4″h. x 39-3/4″w. x 18″d. CONDITION: The doors with original glass panels, the brass hardware original with cleaned old surfaces proper right front foot with professional repairs.
