Circa 1880. 1) Scrimmed with a ship under full sail above a young woman in formal attire, a book in right hand above a bust portrait of a young gentleman above a biblical related allegorical scene above the figure of a military officer of the period. 2) Scrimmed with a ship under full sail above a woman in formal attire seated with crossed arms above an allegorical scene depicting a figure with serpent above a bust portrait of a young gentleman with dress coat of the period above the figure of a woman in gown and cape. SIZE: 1) 24″ l. 2) 25″ l. PROVENANCE: From a private Utah collection. CONDITION: Very good overall with expected vertical hairline shrinkage cracks. Good surfaces and patina. 9-90363 (4,000-6,000)
