ATTRIBUTED TO ALDRO THOMPSON HIBBARD (AMERICAN, 1886-1982) COVERED BRIDGE IN WINTER. Oil on board winter scene shows a large covered bridge over river with birch trees and road in foreground and snow-covered hills in background under colorful sky. Unsigned. Housed in a period silver gilt carved wood frame with silver painted wide liner under glass. The back of board inscribed in pen “C.R. MORSE”. Morse was an accomplished artist who trained under Hibbard. SIZE: 10″h x 12″w. CONDITION: Very good. 9-97276 (1,200-1,600)
