ANTONIO NICOLO GASPARO JACOBSEN (1850-1921) PORTRAIT OF THE SHIP “DANIEL WEBSTER”. Fine oil on board portrait of the three-mast ship “Daniel Webster”. It is seen in rough seas with partial sails up flying the American flag. A wave crests over the side as it drives into a wave. The name is emblazoned on the bow, all under a white billowy cloud sky having pink highlights and glimpses of blue. Signed lower right and dated “1918”. Housed in a modern gilt and black molded wood frame. The Daniel Webster was built by Donald Mckay in East Boston, Mass. for the Train Line having New York as the home port. SIZE: 12″ x 20″.
