FINE STEINWAY MODEL “M” BABY GRAND PIANO. Circa 1888-1889, New York. Serial number 64426. The grand piano with ebonized finish of typical form raised on reeded cylindrical legs headed by incised and carved floral decoration, raised on suppressed ball feet with casters. The keyboard cover marked “Steinway & Sons./Patent Grand./New York./London./Hamburg.” Serial number is impressed behind the key slip, and also stenciled in the iron frame. Together with an American ebonized piano chair with swivel seat, glass ball, and chrome claw feet. SIZE: Overall piano: 38-1/2″ h x 72-1/2″ l x 54-1/2″ w. Length of soundboard: 5’7″. CONDITION: Ebonized surfaces remain intact, but would need professional re-polishing to return it to restored condition. Until recently, the piano was tuned and utilized on a yearly basis. Soundboard remains intact with minimal and minor hairline seam cracks. Piano in good working order. 9-27559 (3,000-5,000)
