FINE BUILDER’S HALF-HULL MODEL OF THE BARK “ALASKA”. Late 19th century, New England. This nice example with unknown quantity of lifts of the three-masted bark “Alaska” built New Bedford, Massachusetts 1867. The hull, in black paint above the water line, natural varnish below the water line. Mounted on a hardwood plank. A museum tag affixed the back. SIZE: 10″ h x 39″ l. CONDITION: Model in very fine original condition, backboard structurally very good but with varnish bubbling on surface. 9-29019 (1,100-1,400)
