RUSSIAN ORTHODOX SILVER, GOLD & GEMSTONE MONSTRANCE. The mark located at the back of the base is rubbed and hard to read, possibly “DA” in Cyrillic, Dmitri Andreev, active St. Petersberg, 1835-1860. Sunburst frame set with old mine cut sapphires, diamonds, emeralds, and rubies. Later lapis lazuli stepped base. WEIGHT: Without lapis base but including the mounting screw & plate which are not gold: 128 grams. SIZE: 5-1/2″ h total: 4″ without lapis base. 1-1/4″ Eucharist. CONDITION: Very good. Over the years these monstrances were fitted with different accessories including bases and it is possible that the bottom 1″ base is an appropriate associated base. 9-27760 (12,000-14,000)
