TWO THULIN FRAMES. 1) Carved gilt arts and crafts style thin frame houses a photographic portrait of Clarence Thulin, son of frame maker Walfred Thulin. Photograph is signed Bachrach. Pen signed on back of paper “Boston December 1925”?. SIZE: Inside is 14-1/4” x 11-5/8”. Outside is 15-1/4” x 12-1/2”. 2) Carved gilt arts and crafts style thin frame houses an etching of boats in a harbor signed in print. The gilt frame with carving at the corners also in an arts and crafts style. SIZE: Inside is 15” x 16-5/8”. Outside is 15-3/4” x 17-3/8”. PROVENANCE: Thulin Estate, Hamden, Maine. Handed down through family descent from Walfred Thulin (1878-1949). Thulin worked for the Carrig-Rohane Workshop until he had his own shop in Boston from 1912 into the 1940’s. CONDITION: Some loss to gilt on side edges, otherwise very good. 9-29906 (300-500)
