HENRY 1860 LEVER ACTION REPEATING RIFLE. SN 8668. Cal. 44RF, 24-1/4″ oct bbl with integral magazine, German silver front sight blade, 2-leaf 900 yd ladder rear sight. Top flat of bbl is marked “HENRY’S PATENT. OCT. 16. 1860 / MANUFACT’D. BY THE NEW HAVEN ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CT.” Standard receiver mounted with lightly figured straight grain walnut, uncheckered straight grip, pointed heel brass buttplate with trap door, left side with inlet base with swivel, distinct “Henry bump” below. Left side trough of bbl sling loop attached with screws. Inspection of tangs reveals matching “8668” on left side of lower tang, top tang channel of stock and inside toe of buttplate. CONDITION: Fine+. Bbl retains a silver and brown patina blend with a couple spots of dark brown and some normal minor nicks & scratches. Receiver has very nice sharp edges, some minor tiny dents on top of left side plate, some usual minor nicks & scratches, cleaned sometime back and starting to show a mustard color patina. Hammer shows silver patina on sides with back being a dark brown patina. Lever retains a dark brown patina. Lever screw appears to be a replacement. Stock is sound with normal nicks, dings & small bruises retaining a hand-worn varnish finish. Mechanics are crisp with a remarkable shiny bore showing only a couple minor shallow pits. 4-40844 BDT236 (17,500-27,500)
