DIMINUTIVE NEW ENGLAND DOME-TOP PINE TRUNK IN BLUE PAINT. 1st half 19th century. The hinged dome lid opening to a storage well (“7 pair of sheets, 11 of pillowcases, 12 towels. 5 day of May 1890 S.L.B.” – presumed to be an inventory of the contents in 1890). Original cut-steel heart-shaped bails, hasp, and lock plate. SIZE: 16″ h. x 32-1/2″ l. x 17″ d. CONDITION: With very good dry original blue surface, hardware as stated. Paint wear and small old losses at corners of lid. 9-99380 (400-600)
