HARRISON BIRD BROWN (American, 1831-1915) GRAND MANAN. Outstanding oil on canvas coastal scene shows steep cliffs bathed in sunlight with dark storm clouds above. Glimpses of blue sky can be seen and the surf is high cascading waves onto the foreground beach which are sunlit with bright green and white tips. Signed lower right “H B Brown”. Housed in its original frame liner. SIZE: 13″ x 23″. PROVENANCE: From a Portland, Maine area Estate. CONDITION: One small area of paint loss in edge of wave, some touch up to top edge, otherwise very good. 9-22409 (2,000-3,000)
