REMINGTON/BEALS 1ST MODEL 2ND TYPE PERCUSSION POCKET REVOLVER. Cal. 31. SN 391. Blued finish, 3-1/8” oct bbl with two line markings that include patent dates. “REMINGTON S / ILION N.Y.” is marked on top strap. Has dovetail blade front sight, German silver triggerguard, & 1-pc smooth gutta percha bag type grip. Accompanied by a Remington loading tool & Remington eagle flask (Ray Riling Flask Book #756). The push rod is 2-7/16” long and has a 1” knurled head which is too large for this revolver. CONDITION: Fine. 60% blue on bbl, 50% on cyl, & faint traces on frame all mixed with scattered light surface rust & pitting. Hammer retains about 60% of the fading casehardening color. Grips are slightly faded. Bore & action is good. 4-59455 JH70 (1,000-1,500)
