LARGE HUBLEY “LINDY” AIRPLANE. Not only is this a great classic cast iron toy airplane but historical as well. Produced in the 1930s to commemorate Lindberg’s flight, this toy named “The Spirit of St. Louis” was produced by many toy companies but perhaps the best rendition is this example produced by Hubley. When the toy is pulled along the floor the wheels turn, the propeller spins, and a clacking to simulate a running engine. SIZE: 13″ wingspan. CONDITION: Overall condition very good plus. Minor repairs to both rubber tires. 1-8100 (1,500-2,000)
