LARGE FRANZ SCHMIDT CHARACTER BABY. Made for Franz Schmidt by Simon & Halbig, and head is incised only “1294 65”. This extremely large baby has blue glass sleep eyes, an open mouth with two upper teeth and four lower teeth, painted upper and lower eyelashes, and is on its original five piece bent limb body, he is wearing a period pleated blue linen sailor costume, auburn human hair wig, and newer mid stockings. SIZE: 27″ (69cm). CONDITION: The head is in excellent condition, body has some wear and chipping at fingertips. 1-7763 (500-800)
