THOMAS BARTHOLOMEW GRIFFIN (American, 1858-1918) “THE DELAWARE”. Outstanding large oil on canvas landscape shows a river cascading through boulders with rock and tree lined banks. Low hills are seen going into background. All under a darkening approaching rain storm coming from the left and starting to obscure the light white clouds and blue sky. Signed lower right “T B Griffin”. Housed in what appears to be its original fancy decorated gilt frame. Signed and titled on back of canvas. Frame has an Edward Jackson Brooklyn, NY label.
