SMITH & WESSON MODEL #2 SECOND TYPE SPUR TRIGGER TARGET REVOLVER. Cal. 38 S&W. Blued finish, 6” keyhole ribbed bbl with target sights and 2-pc medallion round butt pearl grips. Fitted with the flat-sided Mexican hammer and spur trigger but has the safety notch in the hammer. The serial number is on the front strap instead of the normal position on the bottom of the butt indicating it may have been shipped with extension grips. Records indicate it was shipped to Germany, although there are no proof marks. SN 17970. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl and cylinder are numbered 12474 and the latch is unnumbered. Retains 88-90% strong bright, original blue overall, with the balance flaked to a light gray patina with drag lines around the cylinder. Grips are fine.
