HOMER DODGE MARTIN (American, 1836-1897) “RICHMOND ON THAMES”. Oil on canvas scene shows a river with a three arch stone bridge having tree and dirt lined banks. A single sailboat is seen under trees and people stroll along a park area with buildings. Unsigned. Housed in an antique gesso decorated gilt frame with beaded liner having name plaque with artist and title. Back stretcher has a Whitney Museum of American Art label Museum No. P14041 with artist name and title. Also a partial label on frame. SIZE: 16-1/2” x 30”.
