EXCEPTIONAL WHEELED PLATFORM PAPIER MACHE SANTA IN SLEIGH WITH 4 REINDEER. Perhaps one of the finest from this collection and to come to the market in a long time. Truly a remarkable treasure this must have been for the child to open on Christmas morning as well as a collector to enjoy now. Spectacular reindeer pulling a wooden moss-covered sled with Dresden birds attached to the front just further add to this magnificent piece. The full bodied seated papier mache Santa appears to be slightly leaning to one side with his eyes glancing off to the right. The toy appears to have all its simulated leather trappings and bridal gear intact as well as the intricate and detailed lead antlers. The reindeer have a multitude of bells attached to them letting one know the arrival of Santa at any minute. SIZE: 30”.
