RARE REDWARE SLIP CUP. Dark brown glaze, pouring spout for goose quill and opening at top. “A slip cup was used with a goose quill inserted through the opening from which the liquid slip was made to trickle over the surface of the ware. The decorator drew the quills over the surface of the clay in waving or zigzag lines. The slip, being made to flow out by the power of attraction.” SIZE: 5” h x 5” w.
