SMALL GROUP OF ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIVE WORKS. Lot includes 1) Watercolor illustration for the Sunday Examiner Vol. LXVII, No. 31, July 31st, 1898. Scene shows flags with a woman at spinning wheel and man beside. Signed “H. W. Hansen (Herman Wendelborg Hansen, 1854 – 1924). Titled bottom right “Donnybrook Fair Ground”. Matted. Sight size: 19-1/2″ x 15-1/2″. 2) Unsigned watercolor, possibly by H. W. Hansen. Illustration for the Sunday Examiner Vol. LXVI, May 15, 1898 No. 135″. Scene shows Columbus with Native American, Lady Liberty and U.S. Seal with eagle. Matted. Sight Size: 19-1/2″ x 16″. 3) Original ink drawing for a Sunday newspaper insert. Thirteen U.S. Soldier paper cutouts depicting soldiers with guns and flag in different poses. These show folding lines so they can be set up on a table or floor. Signed with initials. Sight size: 12″ x 20″. 4) Unsigned ink illustration of man in armor on horseback with flag. Matted. Sight size: 11-1/4″ x 12″. 5) 12-1/2″ x 16-1/2″ colored print of New York City “No. 113- bei Winckelmann & Sohne in Berlin”, mounted to cardboard, appears to be mid 19th Century. 6) 18-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ oil on artist board western scene, unsigned with men and pack horse in mountain landscape. Along with five western prints and six prints of ships at sea by J. O. H. Cosgrave II. All unframed by Penn Prints, NY. Overall size is 14-1/4″ x 18″. Also, three small etchings by Jeanette Maxfield Lewis (“Looking Through”, “In Port”, “Fish Stalls”. SIZE: As noted above. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Geraldine Gaba, Scottsdale, AZ.
