SHEPHERD HARDWARE MASON BANK WITH ORIGINAL BOX. A most appealing and highly enameled bank in a multitude of colors. This particular bank retains its original wooden box. The mason, constructing a wall of brick is being assisted by the hod carrier, who has the coin contained within the hod. Upon depressing the lever, the hod tips forward depositing the coin into the wall as the mason raises his spade to even out the cement on the bricks. Typical of most mechanical and steel banks, they depicted various nationalities of their time, this bank features two Irishmen. SIZE: 7-1/2″ h x 7-1/4″ l. CONDITION: Bank is near excellent condition and would be greatly enhanced by a cleaning. Original box is lacking slide lid. 1-7555 MC (4,000-6,000)
