LOT OF THREE U.S. SOCKET BAYONETS. (1) 18″ triangle blade, blued with locking ring and metal scabbard with brown frog and brass “US” swivel button with brass wire hanger in the belt loop. CONDITION: Blade is extremely fine with the shank & socket covered with light rust. Scabbard retains about 60% blue with heavy rust. Frog is fine, dry & flaked. (2) Identical to #1. CONDITION: Fair to good. Blue/gray patina, moderate to heavy pitting on the bayonet, scabbard with scattered light pitting and good blue. Dry & flaked frog. (3) Identical to #1 with dark brown or black frog marked “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL” with inspector initials in two places. CONDITION: Blade retains dull blue with scattered light pitting. Shank & socket have turned plum. Scabbard retains about 70% blue with moderate to heavy rust. Frog has dry & flaked edges with heavy verdigris.
