ROOKWOOD PRESENTATION STEIN. This magnificent rare signed Rookwood stein has pewter lid embossed with intertwining letters, which appear to be those of the Commercial Club of Cincinnati. The underside of the lid engraved “To A. Howard Hinkle of the Commercial Club of Cincinnati from W. W. Taylor, President 1894.” The body of the stein with raised decoration and a twig of lovely painted cherries and leaves. The upper portion of the sign in relief, “MDCCCXCIV” and the lower portion of the sign in relief, “Commercial Club of Cincinnati”. The underside with Rookwood symbol and number “783” also artist signed, “MM”. SIZE: 6-1/2 in. t to top of pewter thumb rest x 4-3/8 in. dia at base.
