LOT OF TWO TRAPDOOR TROWEL BAYONETS. Standard bayonets with 10″ spade shaped blade with iron handle/socket for trapdoor rifles. Accompanied by one orig sheath made of brown leather with metal lining and a brass tip. It is the early style with leather belt loop, which has dry rotted and broken away. CONDITION: One retains about 50% orig polish with some light surface rust & spotting. Handle retains about 40% thin orig blue with some light surface rust. The other retains 30-40% orig polish with some dark staining and a few spots of light rust that may clean. Handle retains about 90% orig strong blue with light spots of surface rust. Sheath is dry & flexed with slight losses on the edges, crackled finish and missing the belt loop. From the collection of the late Bruce McDowell. 4-54654 JR297 (400-700)
