1912 IVES HOSE REEL. An exceptional Ives toy pictured in their 1912 train catalog. One of the last offerings by Ives of their cast iron toys. This model is of a one-horse hose reel and still retains its original tin label (behind rear wheel) that they also used on their O-gauge train locomotives. The large white outstretched stallion, racing to the fire has a rod connected to its rear foot, which is also connected to its eccentric front axle creating a galloping motion. The back end is painted in pumpkin with its original red capped gray dressed driver and still retains its original rubber hose and lead nozzle. SIZE: 17″ l.
