*HIGH QUALITY HEYM SINGLE BARREL TRAP GUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 5895. Fine boxlock trap gun with sideplates having a 32” bbl choked IMP-MOD with flat ventilated rib, a red ivory dbl front bead with silver middle bead, dbl bite crossbolt bbl extensions with dbl underbite & ejector. Bbl is engraved on right side “SLOAN’S SPORTING GOODS CO. INC.” and “NEW-YORK” on left side. Mounted with replacement, center crotch cut, flame grain, American walnut with checkered, deep, heavy forearm & pistol grip stock with Monte Carlo comb, 14-1/4” over a White Line pad and a 1/4” extension. Grip cap has a blank gold initial oval. Sideplates are very beautifully engraved in typical Germanic style with three pheasants in a very detailed scene with another pheasant toward front. Right sideplate has equally detailed scenes of two large flying ducks at rear & a smaller flying duck forward. Side reinforcements & fences are very deep relief engraved in oak leaf & acorn patterns with balance of receiver having about 70% coverage, very fine foliate arabesque patterns with shaded background. Maker’s name is on bottom. Trigger guard & forend iron are engraved to match. Bore diameter: .733. Bore restriction: .022. Wall thickness: .056. Drop at rear of comb: 1-1/2”, drop at front of comb: 1-1/2”. Weight: 7 lbs. 14.4 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains about all of a professionally restored finish. Receiver retains about 50% case colors in sheltered areas, bright over top with sideplates & balance of receiver faded to silver. Wood is sound with minor storage marks and retains about all of its custom finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-60663 JR545 (3,000-4,000)
