*RARE ITHACA KNICKERBOCKER MODEL GRADE 6 SINGLE BARREL TRAP GUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 405740. Assembled from parts by the Ithaca Classic Doubles Co., successor to the Ithaca Gun Co., this beautiful gun is in every way as fine as the original product. It has a 34” full choke bbl with flat, hand matted, ventilated rib with dbl ivory beads, dbl rear bites, ejector & gold plated trigger. Mounted with exhibition quality, California Claro walnut with very beautifully checkered & fleur-de-lis carved, Ithaca trademark, reverse tapered forearm and pistol grip stock with carved & checkered side panels & wrist with Monte Carlo comb, 14” over a Decelerator pad. Receiver & appended metal parts are beautifully engraved in the classic Grade 6 patterns with a gold Indian with bow & arrow on left side and a 2-tone gold trap shooter on right side, all surrounded by foliate patterns with punch dot background. Bottom front of receiver has Ithaca’s trademark eagle & trigger bow is inlaid with gold initials “JJY”. Engraving patterns extend 3-1/4” up over chamber areas and both sides of bbl reinforcements. Left side bbl reinforcement has “ITHACA CLASSIC DOUBLES” and right side ‘KNICKERBOCKER”, each in a ribbon. There is a matching pattern, 1-3/8” on each side of muzzle. Bore diameter: 729. Bore restriction: .034. Wall thickness: .040. Drop at rear of comb: 1-1/4”, drop at front of comb: 1-3/8”. Weight: 7 lbs. 15.68 oz. CONDITION: As new, may have been fired, but if so, very little. Retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood with the bbl blue bright & case colors vivid. Wood is sound and retains about all of its wonderful hand-rubbed oil finish.
