*CONTINENTAL ARMS IMPERIAL CROWN GRADE OVER/UNDER DOUBLE RIFLE. Cal. 30-40 Krag. SN 14870. Fine Belgium made double rifle with 25-3/4” superposed bbls with hand matted raised solid rib with partridge type front sight and 3-leaf, 2 folding, 1 standing, express sight with double bbl extensions third bite with double underbite ejectors and single selective trigger. It is mounted with highly figured streaky French walnut with 3-pc checkered field style forearm and pistol grip stock with cheek piece 14” over a smooth butt. Receiver, trigger guard and thumb lever are coin finished and beautifully engraved with large vignettes of two fighting boar on the left side with two sows in the front area and a large stag and hind on the right side with a larger stag on the bottom, all surrounded by fine foliate arabesque patterns. The trigger guard is engraved with a wolf or a fox. The fences, bbl reinforcements and about 3-1/4”” up the bbls are nicely engraved in oak leaf and acorn patterns. The top lever has a raised gold crown with a top tang thumb safety. Drop at comb: 1-9/16”, drop at heel: 2-5/8”. Weight 7 lbs 14.72 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. bbls retain most of an extremely well done restored blue, with slight muzzle edge wear. Receiver and trigger guard retain most of their fine coin finish and the wood is sound, retaining about all of a professionally restored finish. Mechanics are fine.
