PARKER GH GRADE DAMASCUS HAMMER SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 26908. Built on a No. 4 frame with 37-7/16” Damascus steel bbls (bbls conform to specifics on factory letter), tapered, concave, smooth rib with sgl bead, doll’s head rib extension & extractor. Top of rib at muzzle, is loose for about 2-1/2”. Mounted with very nicely figured, burl & shell grain, American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock, 14” over a Parker dog’s head hard rubber buttplate. Lockplates & receiver are engraved in typical early G-patterns with two partridge on left side, two ducks on right side & a woodcock on bottom with a few scattered light patterns of foliate arabesque engraving. Bore diameter: left – .795, right – .795. Bore restrictions: left – .026, right – .030. Wall thickness: left – , right – . Drop at heel: 2-1/2”, drop at comb: 1-7/8”. Weight: 11 lbs. 10.56 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls, as noted, retain most of their orig brown Damascus pattern, somewhat thinned. Lockplates retain most of their orig case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas, slightly faded elsewhere. Receiver is mostly a silver patina. There are tiny hairlines back of each lockplate, otherwise wood is sound and retains most of an old restored finish with some oil staining on forearm & stock, around receiver & lockplates. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores with some orange peel pitting. 4-59229 JR457 (3,500-5,000)
