COPY OF GERMAN HIRSCHFANGER. Unusual copy with 17″ blade made from an old U.S. sword blade that is inspected and marked “US” on the right ricasso with the date “1863”. The tip has a 6″ back grind, it has cast deer hoof hand guard with oval languet of three deer. With stag handle & pillow shaped silver pommel. It has a leather sheath with German silver tip & throat. Only fair quality, very rough castings. CONDITION: Blade is moderately pitted, and scabbard is crackled & flexed with numerous dents & dings. 4-54458 JR296 (150-250)
