RARE REMINGTON BEALS BRASS FRAME SINGLE SHOT LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32. SN 456. It has 24” oct to rnd bbl, orig folding leaf rear sight and standard front sight. Blued finish, mounted in walnut stock with straight grip, made without forend, has brass buttplate. Only about 800 of these rifles were made from 1866-1870. “BEALS PATENT” & “REMINGTON” stamping very clear on bbl. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains about 5% strong orig blue with some scattered very fine pin points of light rust. Frame and buttplate retain a beautiful, dark mustard patina. Stock has a hairline in back of the top tang, otherwise is sound with light handling and storage marks and retains virtually all of its orig factory varnish.
