ATTRIBUTED TO NARCISSE VIRGILE DIAZ DE LA PENA (French, 1808-1876) FOREST INTERIOR WITH FIGURE. Oil on canvas Barbizon style scene shows an opening in thick woods with woodland pool and figure beside. A glimpse of blue sky is seen which reflects in the water. Unsigned. Retaining its original frame with “Diaz” plaque. Housed in a gilt gesso decorated frame with a gilt liner. SIZE: 7-1/2” x 11-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-90501 SM (1,500-1,800)
