*SCARCE PARKER DHE GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 12 ga. SN 101007. Built on a No. 2 frame with orig 30” bbls (#1) choked FULL/MOD and later factory 26” bbls (#2) choked SKEET-IN/SKEET-OUT. Both have tapered, concave, matted ribs with sgl beads, doll’s head rib extensions, ejectors & receiver has a Miller sgl selective trigger. The 30” bbls have the maker’s name & address with “TITANIC STEEL”. The 26” bbls are unmarked on rib, but are marked on bbl flats with the late Remington proof with the choke “SKEET-IN/SKEET-OUT”. Bbl lugs and forend irons are marked “1” and “2” respectively. Mounted with nicely figured, American walnut with two checkered beavertail forearms with older piece extensively checkered and newer piece more simply checkered. It has a checkered pistol grip stock with raised, teardrop side panels 14” over an old Hawkins pad. Stock has a blank initial plate on bottom. Receiver is engraved in typical D-patterns with a pointer on left side, a setter on right side and four partridge on floorplate, all surrounded by foliate arabesque patterns with maker’s name in a ribbon both sides. Bbl #1: Bore diameter: left – .734, right – .741. Bore restrictions: left – .035, right – .022. Wall thickness: left – .026, right – .020. Bbl #2: Bore diameter: left – .730, right – .729. Bore restrictions: left – .001, right – .001. Wall thickness: left – .031, right – .029. Drop at heel: 1-7/8”, drop at comb: 1-1/4”. Weight with 30” bbls: 7 lbs. 13.44 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Both sets of bbls retain most of their orig factory blue, somewhat thinned on #1 bbls over chamber area & turning plum. Bbls #2 are thin at muzzle & on left side with some plum on right side. Receiver retains case colors in sheltered areas, having mostly faded to silver. Wood is sound with light handling & use marks and retains about all of a fine professionally restored finish.
