HOLLAND & HOLLAND DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10ga. SN 6361. Fine early Holland that has been nitro-proofed for 1-5/8 oz loads. It has 32″ fine Damascus bbls and smooth concave rib with single bead and is marked with makers name and address. The bottom barrel flats are marked with a various early and nitro-proof stamps and also marked “NOT FOR BALL”. The receiver, lockplates, hammers and triggerguard are beautifully engraved with about 75% coverage fine English arabesque patterns with delicate chain borders around the lockplates. It is mounted in very nicely figured English walnut with full checkered semi-schnable tip splinter forearm and straight stock 14-1/4″ over a smooth, steel buttplate. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. The bbls retain 93-95% strong original brown Damascus pattern with scattered spots of light surface rust. The receiver retains 30-40% subtle, muted case colors with the balance turned silver. The lockplates retain 85-90% slightly faded case colors. The wood is sound showing moderate wear and retains a fine hand-polished oil finish with light nicks and scratches and couple of small bruises to the butt. Mechanics are fine. Bright shiny bores with a very few scattered spots of fine pitting. 4-53711 JR1007 (5,500-7,000)
